The entrance examination mandatory for admission in medical courses in India, NEET will be taking place on 17th July. Even though some students are still protesting about the postponement of the exam. Nonetheless, fate is sealed for now. Almost 18 lakh students will be appearing for this exam. What are the Reservations Seats available for NEET Exam?

The aspirant must have cleared 12th or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as a core subject. Even the students who appeared for the 12th or equivalent exam qualify. The student under General Category needs to have an aggregate of 55% while the students under SC/ST/OBC need to have an aggregate of 40%. Meanwhile, the students under the PWD category need to meet an aggregate of 45%. The lower age limit is the completion of 17 years as of December 2022.

The nationality of students also plays a vital role in this eligibility process. Indian Nationals (Citizens of India), NRIs (Non-Residential Indians, OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India), PIOs (Person of Indian Origins), and Indian Nationals who wish to study abroad but practice in India. NEET Exam Pattern 2022

The paper pattern of the NEET exam involves 50 questions for Physics and Chemistry and 100 questions for Biology. Each question carries a weight of 4 marks. For each right question, the score goes up by 4 marks whereas for each wrongly answered question a total of 1 mark is deducted while 0 marks are added to the tally for unanswered questions. One also needs to keep in mind only in total only 180 questions out of 200 questions need to be answered.

What is the type and number of questions?

The question paper of each subject is divided into section A and B. Section A of Physics have 35 questions and Section B has 15 questions. A similar trend is followed in Chemistry. But the Biology paper is divided into two parts Botany and Zoology. Both sections have Section A with 35 questions and Section B with 15 questions.
